One of Duro Hospitality’s beloved concepts (along with The Charles, El Carlos Elegante, and Sister), this Italian and French restaurant in the Knox neighborhood was recognized by the Michelin Guide in 2024 and 2025. We love the interiors created by Sees Design and always order these three canapés to start: the grilled cheese with truffled cheddar and prosciutto, lobster roll on toasted brioche with fennel salad, and chicken nugget with ricotta ranch and caviar.

At this French- and Italian-inspired hotspot, chef Jared Harms takes cues from both cuisines for his caviar pasta. He describes the dish—fusilli in a dashi butter sauce with creamy fontina, topped with a spoonful of Osetra caviar—as a “decadent mac and cheese.” If you’re looking for something bite-size, the restaurant also serves a chicken nugget paired with caviar as well as a petite egg salad canapé with caviar on top.

Mister Charles, the acclaimed restaurant on Knox Street from Duro Hospitality, made the list in OpenTable’s prestigious Top 100 Restaurants in America for 2025 — the only restaurant in the Dallas-Fort Worth area to earn a spot on this coveted list and one of only 10 in the entire state of Texas.

This new Highland Park favorite is dripping with luxury: marble checkerboard floors, ornate chandeliers and towering 40-foot ceilings. Mister Charles serves high-end French and Italian cuisine, but the restaurant is the kind of space where they could serve cafeteria-caliber hot dogs and milk cartons and you’d still feel like royalty.

This gorgeous restaurant is a wonderful place to land for a special night. There are light and dark sides to the restaurant, the latter perhaps being better for a moody date night and the former great for groups as it has lots of roomy banquettes. The food is exceptional, and the service is extremely hard to beat.

On the heals of receiving the MICHELIN Guide Texas 2025 Exceptional Cocktails Awards this past October, the previously MICHELIN Guide Recommended Mister Charles in Dallas has received further distinction as the sole restaurant in the DFW area to feature on OpenTable’s “Top 100 Restaurants in America 2025” list.

Mister Charles has been named one of OpenTable’s Top 100 Restaurants in America for 2025, making it the only restaurant from the Dallas-Fort Worth area to earn this distinction.

This recognition highlights Mister Charles as a distinguished dining destination in Dallas and the state of Texas. The restaurant is part of Duro Hospitality, which is known for other Dallas eateries such as Sister, The Charles, El Carlos Elegante, and The Chumley House.

Texas cuisine is reigning supreme after snagging 10 spots on OpenTable’s 2025 Top 100 Restaurants list.
The remaining two restaurants are BCN Taste & Tradition in Houston and Mister Charles in Dallas. All the restaurants boast a star rating of either 4.8 or 4.9 from over 200 reviews.
Only California, Illinois and New York had more restaurants make the list than Texas at 18, 16 and 11, respectively.

Online restaurant reservation site OpenTable has released its list of America’s Top 100 restaurants based, it says, “on insights and reviews from OpenTable diners like you.” Apparently, diners like you either don’t include many Dallas folk, as local restaurants come up a bit short compared with Austin, which had eight spots on the list.
Mister Charles, the elegant, pricey restaurant that opened two years ago in the spot of the old Highland Park Pharmacy, promising “an irreverent play on the classics,” is certainly a reasonable choice for Dallas’ sole spot on OpenTable’s rankings. When he visited in 2023 not long after it opened, Observer food writer Chris Wolfgang tried the uni butter carbonara for $32. “Take a firm grasp of your fork for your first bite, because the explosion of rich flavors might cause you to drop your utensil,” he wrote.

In a list of the Top 100 Restaurants in America for 2025 compiled from 10 million reviews on OpenTable, just one eatery in Dallas-Fort Worth made the cut.
Mister Charles, the flashy French and Italian restaurant on Dallas’ Knox Street that was recently lauded by Michelin for its “exceptional cocktails,” was the only North Texas spot to make OpenTable’s 2025 list.

When the Michelin Guide arrived in Texas for the first time, it added this swanky fine-dining restaurant to its list. When the Guide returned for the second time, Mister Charles won the 2025 Texas Exceptional Cocktails Award.
